Obituary for Jackie Ann Jones

Jackie Jones passed away on May 11, 2020 at Mobile Infirmary from COVID-19. Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald Jones. She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jason) McCartha, Jeffrey Jones, and Jarred (Leigh Anne) Jones. She is also survived by her mother, Vivian Long and siblings, Jerry (Calvin) Dixon, Johnny Long, and Jimmy (Jackie) Long. She is survived by her late husband’s family, Betty (Ray) Stanton and Beverly Jones. She is survived by grandchildren; Caitlin (Ryker), Caleb, Gabe, Justice, Jenson, Maci, J.D, Landon, and Abby. Jackie was an active member of her church. She served in numerous capacities at Knollwood Church and was dearly loved by many. She was a graduate of Mary G. Montgomery, Class of 68, where she was instrumental in organizing Homecoming and Reunion events. Jackie was a talented wedding event coordinator as well as a decorator. She is best known for her creativity and role playing in skits that she often wrote and costumes she created. Jackie was witty, generous, fun loving, and. the life of the party. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Knollwood Church. The service will be held in the church for the immediate family. Friends may be a part of the service by live stream on Knollwood Church Facebook Live, Knollwood Church YouTube channel and at The family is asking that friends view the service in their cars, and at the end of the service the family will come to the front lawn to greet you as you drive by.
