Obituary for Lola Barry Rehm Robichaux

Lola Barry Rehm Robichaux - age 71; a native and resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at her residence. Barry is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Robert P. Robichaux, Sr.; four children, Michele K. Robichaux, Dr. Robert P. (Mary) Robichaux, Jr., Richard P. (Coley) Robichaux, and Ryan P. (Meagan) Robichaux; seven grandchildren, Sophia, Stella, Scarlett, Sara, Carli, Libby, and Julia, and two to be born, Rehm Allie and Charlie Marie; her siblings, Charles L. (Jeanette) Rehm, Jr., Matthew M. (Mia) Laws, Virginia (James) Chappell, Jane Rehm (Rick) Roller, Kay Rehm, Thomas G. (Donna) Laws, Christopher J. (Mae) Rehm, Sr., and Michael E. (Mary Anne) Rehm; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and a multitude of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. and Cleo Rehm, Jr. and Grace N. Rehm Noble; grandparents, Robert and Lola Thompson and Charles L. and Gladys Rehm, Sr; two grandchildren, John David and Luke Blaise Robichaux; and Sr. John Mary. Barry was a graduate and Salutatorian of Convent of Mercy High School and Spring Hill College. She was a mother of four, a marathon runner, an Alabama history teacher, a medical technologist, and a devoted pet and animal lover. She was a devoted member, Eucharistic Minister, daily Mass attendant and volunteer at the parishes that she was a part of including: St. Francix Xavier, Birmingham, AL, St. Bede’s Church, Montgomery, AL, St. Peter the Apostle, Birmingham, AL and Corpus Christi Church, Mobile, AL. A woman committed to countless acts of service, some of her favorite of which were ministering to the homebound and supporting the rights of the unborn, as well as supporting other vulnerable and disenfranchised members of our community. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Friday a Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Priest Burse Club, the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the United for Life Foundation, P.O. Box 43217, Birmingham, AL 36243, (205) 969-0771.
